Hello all! My name is Marissa Watters and I am proud to be the Head Coach for the Barker’s Landing Barracudas! I have been swimming since I was four years old and am now a part of the Collegiate Division 1 Swimming and Diving program at The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) since I started college in Fall of 2017. I am graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport Management this May, however I still have two years left of eligibility in NCAA swimming so I will be pursuing my MBA in Sport Management while I complete my swim career at UIW. Like most swimmers, I began swimming summer league and fell deeply in love with the sport. Since that time, I joined Katy Aquatics and swam with them for over 10 years and competed for four years on varsity at Katy High School where I broke two school records and served as team captain for two years. Additionally I taught for Swim America for two summers where I worked with students from age four to seventy, including students with special needs. It is a privilege to teach swimming because not only is a life-long path for fun but also teaches lifesaving water safety skills. Outside of swimming I enjoy spending time with my twin (who is also a collegiate swimmer), my two big sisters, and my three nephews. Now, I look forward to being a part of the Barker’s Landing Barracuda family! See y’all at the pool!
Hi! I am Emilia, one of your Assistant Coaches for this year. I am currently a student at Taylor High School and I have been on the Varsity Swim Team for 3 years now. I will be a senior next year in high school. I swam club for about 8 years, on West Houston Aquatics Team and Dads Club. But before I swam on club, I was a little Barracuda myself and I have lots of good memories swimming on the Barkers Landing Swim Team and I can't wait to coach y’all again this season!
Hi, my name is Madison! I am currently a senior at Katy High School and I attend the Miller Career and Technology Center where I take part in a teaching internship for students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth. I have been a swimmer for about eleven years; I started off at the YMCA, in which I learned all the strokes. Then, once I moved to Katy I joined my neighborhood swim team and year round swim team, Power Aquatics, which I participated in for about eight years. I also swam my freshmen year of high school on the junior varsity team. Since then, I have been a swim instructor at a local swim school, and swimming continues to be a huge part of my life. Outside of school and swimming, I enjoy being with friends and family, traveling, and playing with my dogs. I am looking forward to a great season!
